I do not give out unwanted advice. I just listen and where appropriate guide those who need it to other available resources and trained counsellors.
Is it empathetic or empathic?
The words mean the same thing. Both words are derived from empathy, and you can use them interchangeably.
Dictionary empathic
/ɛmˈpaθɪk/ adjective
- showing an ability to understand and share the feelings of another.
Empathy has no script. There is no right or wrong way to do it.
It’s simply listening, holding space, withholding judgement, emotionally connecting, and communicating that incredibly healing message of you are not alone.
